Father's Day Prayer

A Father’s Day Prayer

Father’s Day is always hard for me. I never know what to give my Dad. I always feel like I have to give him something.

I can always think of something but it never turns out to be a good idea. It turns in to me just giving anything I can find at the store.

It’s not from my heart and it lacks any meaning.

A prayer is a wonderful present to give a Dad. It’s especially loving when it comes from your heart.

Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him how to honor your earthly father. Listen and write down what he says. Here’s what the Lord led me to pray.

My Father’s Day Prayer

Landscape in the Sea of Galilee
Almighty God, so generous, gracious and kind –

I bring to you all the fathers in our country. I lift them up to you in recognition of their sacrifices. Every Father has made a sacrifice. Sacrifices they did not have to make.

Today I honor our fathers. I honor the long road they’ve traveled and the sacrifices they’ve made. I honor the strength, dedication, and difficult choices they’ve made.

I declare grace and peace over their lives. I declare blessings over their families. Put favor and value in their lives.

Bless every family in this country, Heavenly Father. Bring families back together. Unite families. May your biblical principles be passed down from fathers to children and their children. I declare your word will prosper father. May your word plant seeds in fathers everywhere. Give root to your word and sprout biblical values that will bring shade and rest to all those that listen to your word from our fathers.

Defend our fathers Lord. Protect their hearts and souls. Place your angles around our fathers and protect them. Give them life, health, and all they need to be fruitful and bring you glory in this life, Lord. Bless their hands and bless their work.

We are thankful for our fathers. It’s from fathers that we receive worth, value, and love. May our fathers stand tall and proud knowing they are the carriers and messengers of our Lord’s values and principles.

Bless our fathers, Lord.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
